Annelies Anne Frank was born in German City Frankfurt am Main on June 12, 1929. Her father was named Otto Frank and her mother's name was Edith Frank- Hollander.When Anne was born, her parents were married for 4 years. They got married on May 12, 1925.The Frank family were liberal Jews. They observed the traditions of the Jewish religion though they were not strict believers. Anne Frank's older sister was named  Margot was born on February 16, 1926. From birth to age 13, Anne Frank's life was happy and "normal", but when Adolf Hitler took control of Germany her life turned upside down. .
The Frank family moved from Germany to Amsterdam in 1933, the year the Nazis gained control over Germany. By the beginning of 1940, they were trapped in Amsterdam by the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. As persecutions of the Jewish population increased in July 1942, the family went into hiding in the hidden rooms of Anne's father, Otto Frank's, office building. Which is known as the Secret Annex.  After two years, the group was betrayed and transported to concentration camps. Anne Frank and her sister, Margot, were eventually transferred to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where they both died of typhus in March 1945.
